parkjoys:

i’m tired of being told girl group stans have superiority complexes and are uselessly aggressive towards male idols/groups. i don’t think a lot of these people understand how tough it is for these girls, who, no matter how good their songs are for the first two years of debut, will likely not get a single win and will consistently sell less than the males who debuted at the same time. it’s not to say that one is better than the other (that is strictly opinion based, and since girl group stans generally prefer songs sung by girls and the other side of the coin for male group stans… it’s just biased). we see our extremely talented rookie girl groups get stomped on by boy groups so often it really is something that makes you bitter. we see our girls get replaced by new male groups in their companies and realize we may never see them come back again. from a musical standpoint, there’s a lot of male groups who really are given lackluster songs, debuts, dances, ect. it’s not that they aren’t working hard, it’s just frustrating to see that people are preferring songs by lazy companies over ones who are putting their everything into their groups. a lot of these songs given to male groups promote some extremely iffy ideals, especially ones where girls are seen as someone’s “belonging”. if there’s something even remotely “unfit” in a girl group’s song, it’s pointed out automatically and usually banned. their dances are changed for the smallest things, outfits modified, ect. it’s not that we think we’re better than you, we just think our girls deserve better than what they get.
